What They Mean, What They Don't, and Why Our Approach Is Different
If you've recently experienced storm damage, or you're gathering estimates for a roof replacement, you may notice something quickly.
Many roofing companies prominently feature a single manufacturer logo across their trucks, websites, and marketing materials. You may hear statements like:
- "We exclusively install this manufacturer."
- "This is the best shingle available."
- "We only recommend one system."
That branding can feel reassuring. But it's worth understanding what manufacturer certifications actually represent, and how they influence the options presented to homeowners. This page explains how roofing certifications work, what those badges really mean, and how Pak Exteriors approaches product recommendations differently.
Why You Don't See One Manufacturer Logo Covering Our Trucks
Many roofing contractors align closely with one manufacturer relationship. These partnerships may include:
- Access to enhanced warranty programs
- Co-branded marketing support
- Volume-based incentives
- Manufacturer rebate programs
These programs are common throughout construction industries and are not inherently negative. However, they can naturally encourage long-term loyalty to a single product line. Pak Exteriors operates differently.
Both company owners have worked inside roofing distribution and understand how supplier pricing, manufacturer incentives, and rebate structures function behind the scenes.
Because of that experience, we maintain certifications across multiple manufacturers rather than committing exclusively to one brand. This allows recommendations to be based on:
Rather than manufacturer alignment.

What Manufacturer Certifications Actually Mean
A roofing manufacturer certification typically confirms that a contractor:
Maintains required licensing and insurance
Meets operational stability standards
Completes manufacturer training
Installs approved roofing systems
Is authorized to register enhanced warranty protections
Certifications primarily determine which manufacturer-backed warranties a contractor is allowed to offer. They do not automatically guarantee craftsmanship, ventilation design, or long-term system performance.
We view certifications as tools that expand homeowner options, not trophies.

What Our Certifications Allow Homeowners to Access
Manufacturer certifications directly control which warranty protections are available for your roof. For a detailed breakdown of how roof warranties actually work, see our Roof Warranty Guide.
Because Pak Exteriors maintains certifications across major manufacturers, homeowners are not limited to a single warranty structure or product ecosystem.
The result:
Product selection is driven by performance, fit, and warranty alignment, not by which vendor is offering the best rebate this quarter.

Regardless of manufacturer, every Pak Exteriors roof replacement includes a 10-year Pak workmanship warranty. If a leak is caused by how your roof was installed, we cover it — no matter which product is on your home.
Why This Matters for Homeowners
Most roofing contractors maintain certification with only one manufacturer. That typically means every project is routed toward one warranty structure and one product ecosystem.
Because Pak Exteriors maintains certifications across multiple manufacturers, we can match roofing systems and warranty structures to the needs of the home rather than steering homeowners toward a single brand.
For a detailed breakdown of how roof warranties actually work, see our Roof Warranty Guide.
Product selection becomes performance-driven rather than brand-driven.
Product Awareness and Long-Term Flexibility
Roofing materials evolve over time. Because we work across multiple manufacturers, recommendations can adapt if defect trends emerge or availability shifts following regional storms.
Local & Consumer-Focused Accreditations

Better Business Bureau
Pak Exteriors maintains BBB Accreditation with an A+ rating, reflecting consistent responsiveness, transparent practices, and long-term accountability.

Xactimate Level 1 & Level 2 Certification
Xactimate is the estimating software insurance adjusters use to write claim scopes and pricing. Holding Level 1 and Level 2 certification means we understand how insurance estimates are built, what line items are commonly missed, and how adjusters price individual components.
Worth noting: we don't use Xactimate to price our own work. Xactimate pricing is based on surveyed market averages, which means it reflects a theoretical midpoint across a region rather than what materials and labor actually cost today in your specific market. Our pricing is based on real current costs for the work being done.
But understanding Xactimate means we can read an adjuster's scope the way it was written, identify missing line items, and recognize when a scope doesn't reflect what the damage actually requires. Most roofing contractors don't hold this certification. Most field adjusters don't either.

OSHA 30 Certification
OSHA 30 is a federal safety certification covering hazard recognition, fall protection, and jobsite safety management. It goes significantly beyond the basic OSHA 10 that most contractors carry. For homeowners it means the crew working on your property has been trained to recognized safety standards, which matters both for the people doing the work and for your liability as a property owner.

RSRA Membership
Pak Exteriors is a member of the RSRA, a national trade organization holding storm restoration contractors to defined standards on documentation, scope, homeowner communication, and claims handling. Membership reflects a commitment to operating transparently in a segment of the industry that has historically had consumer protection issues.
Certifications Open the Door.
What Happens After Is What Matters.
A certification proves a contractor met the manufacturer's minimum requirements. But long-term roof performance depends on what comes next — correct system design, proper ventilation planning, realistic warranty expectations, and real accountability after the crew leaves.
System Design
Every component working together — not just shingles on a deck.
Ventilation Planning
Matched intake and exhaust to protect against moisture and heat.
Accountability
A local team that answers the phone years after installation.
